RAMMED EARTH
Rammed Earth, Reimagined
DEQORIA crafts decorative Rammed Earth wall finishes that express the natural stratification and tonal depth of compacted earth through a specialist architectural surface. These selected finishes are non-structural and can be specified with a thin layered build-up, depending on the system. Depending on location and specification, selected interior or exterior systems can create expressive layered textures and natural mineral tones. Every application is reviewed for substrate compatibility, exposure, preparation and the selected manufacturer's technical specification.

For projects seeking VOC-free material options, Clayworks states that its natural clay plasters emit zero VOCs. We review the specified finish, primers and protective treatments separately, using manufacturer documentation to guide the complete installation system.
For projects with sustainability and indoor environmental quality objectives, product-specific documentation may include Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Health Product Declarations (HPDs), VOC emissions testing and information relevant to LEED or WELL project requirements.
At DEQORIA, we focus on the professional installation of selected architectural finishes, helping homeowners, designers and architects understand the application requirements and available manufacturer documentation.
Environmental characteristics and potential contributions to building certification programs depend on the specific product, installation system and project requirements. DEQORIA does not manufacture or certify these materials.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does DEQORIA install natural clay plaster in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills?
Yes. DEQORIA offers specialist installation of natural clay plaster for suitable residential and commercial projects in Southern California. The exact finish and preparation are agreed after technical review.
Is a decorative Rammed Earth finish the same as a structural rammed-earth wall?
No. A decorative Rammed Earth plaster is an architectural surface finish inspired by layered compacted earth, rather than a load-bearing rammed-earth construction system. Its finish build-up and application depend on the selected manufacturer's specification.
Which natural clay and earth finishes does DEQORIA install?
Our specialist services cover architectural natural clay and earth finishes, including classic smooth and textured clay plasters, bespoke custom surfaces, decorative Rammed Earth and suitable Tadelakt or exterior finishes. Each system is assessed for its intended application.
Can natural clay plaster be used in bathrooms or outdoors?
Suitability depends on the specific system, exposure and substrate. Standard interior clay plaster should not be treated as a waterproof coating. Specialist Tadelakt and exterior systems have with separate specifications; wet-area detailing and waterproofing must be assessed independently.
How much does a bespoke clay plaster or rammed-earth-effect finish cost?
Pricing depends on project area, surface condition, preparation, custom texture, access and application complexity. DEQORIA prepares an individual proposal based on the selected finish and agreed project scope.
